Peach and Almond Butter Toasts

This delicious Crohn’s-friendly appetizer is perfect for your next get-together. Almond butter is easier on the gut than plain almonds, and is a good source of protein.

Add in peach marmalade for a sweet, gooey result. During a flare, avoid the blue cheese.

Yields: 2 servings


  • 2 each ¼ inch slices of Italian loaf (or another seedless crusted loaf), toasted

  • ½ cup almond butter, smooth, unsweetened, all natural

  • ½ cup peach marmalade

  • 2 teaspoon crumbled blue cheese

  • 2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar, aged

  • Kosher salt

  • Fresh ground pepper

Method of Preparation:

1Spread the almond butter onto the toasts, followed by the peach marmalade.

2. Crumble the blue cheese over the toast (this is optional), and drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
