Pain relievers can have serious consequences if used incorrectly.

If you’re like 80 percent of adults these days, you take some kind of pain medication at least once a week for either acute or chronic pain. And for most people, they can be used safely on a long-term basis. But if used incorrectly, these effective remedies (sometimes lifesavers) can be quite harmful. Before reaching for your favorite pain reliever, it’s especially important to read the label instructions and talk to your doctor about all the potential risks, as well as the benefits.
