Banana and Peach Smoothie With Agave and Almond Milk
This fruity drink is perfect for a hot summer day. Bananas tend to be gentler on your gut, and almond milk is easy to digest—plus it’s chock-full of key nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. During a flare, consider skipping the agave, and make sure to choose peaches canned in fruit juice or “light syrup”, rather than “heavy syrup.” You can use soy milk as an alternative to provide a source of protein.
Yields: 4 portions (approximately 1 cup each)
2 each bananas, ripe
1 can peaches, drained
2 tablespoons agave
2 cups almond milk
1 cup ice
Method of Preparation:
1. Combine all ingredients and puree in a blender with the ice until smooth. Serve in frozen glasses with slices of fresh banana.
